Speaker: Gernot Heiser, CTO, Open Kernel Labs.
Modern mobile applications feature immense software complexity with millions of lines of code, Internet connectivity and openness including the ability of end-users to download and execute untrusted code. This results in a growing number of security-relevant bugs and new ways to exploit them. This presentation introduces the concept and use of a minimal, trusted computing base to protect applications and will explain how to build this base with an Open Source microkernel.
