Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Speaker:
Peter Kronowitt, Software Strategist, Intel Corporation.

Linux and other open source software are a natural choice as the foundation of consumer oriented devices like Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) that need to provide users with a rich Internet browsing and multimedia experience. Moblin.org is an Intel sponsored open source project focused on technology development and application enabling for this new class of devices.

This session will provide an overview of the Moblin.org project, the key technologies that are part of it and where it fits in the software ecosystem for devices. It will also cover the tools that are available to help developers create applications that take advantage of the cool new features of these platforms.
